Frequently Asked Questions

An Osteopath can treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Tight, Stiff & Sore Muscles & Joints
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Back / Neck / Shoulder Pain
  • Sporting / Gym Injuries
  • Spinal Disc Pain & Injuries
  • Sciatica
  • Tendonitis
  • Hip and Knee Pain
  • Pregnancy-Related Pain
  • Ankle and Foot Pain and Injuries

Initially, we need to get an understanding of what is bothering you. We’ll ask questions about your pain, such as:

  • Where is it?
  • When did it start?
  • What does it feel like?
  • How long have you been suffering from it?
  • What is the intensity and duration of your symptoms?
  • What makes it better or worse?

We want to dive deep into your history. But we don’t stop there. We also want to know about you. We can help you so much more if we know more about you. So, we’ll ask about your work, what you do for exercise and activity. But, most of all, we want to know your goals. What is it that you want to get back to? This will start to develop our framework and management plan.

Our Next Step is a thorough physical assessment. We want to pinpoint exactly where your pain is coming from. To do this, we may ask you to bend, twist, and or perform a squat. We may also carry out special tests related to your condition. These movements and special tests all help us arrive at a specific diagnosis, essentially identifying WHAT is causing your pain .
