Dr Ashley Gudgeon – Osteopath

Ashley graduated from the University of Victoria after completing his Masters degree in Osteopathy. Helping others heal their bodies has always been a longstanding passions of Ashley’s. Treatment of sporting injuries and improving sporting performance are particular areas of interest. He has worked with a number of sporting teams and individual athletes, to optimise their performance and formulate injury prevention programs. A further area of interest is the management and treatment of acute and chronic pain presentations, including headaches, foot, ankle, neck and back pain. In addition, he enjoys being an active member of multidisciplinary teams in the management of chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, asthma, as well as gastrointestinal and digestive issues.

Ashley is passionate about supporting his clients to meet their individual goals, whether they are seeking to reduce pain, better manage chronic illness or injury, or simply to improve their overall performance and wellbeing. Ashley believes that each of us can be instrumental in our recovery to health, and as such, works collaboratively with his clients to empower them to be active participants in this journey.

Alongside traditional assessment, Ashley utilises a functional movement approach which allows for the assessment of various parts of the body, and their interactions to co-ordinate movement. This approach allows for the formulation of a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program and ensures a focus on treating the root cause of the problem, not simply a temporary symptomatic solution.

As an Osteopath, Ashley views each individual as a unit comprised of many parts, and therefore takes a holistic approach to his treatment.  He has a strong belief in the importance of work-life balance, adequate sleep, stress management, exercise and nutrition as integral components in optimal health and healing. He looks forward to being part of your journey towards health and wellbeing.

Ashley holds a Master’s degree in Health Science (Osteopathy) from Victoria University. He is registered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a current member of Osteopathy Australia (OA).
